Hi Kiddo. It may have been a case of shock at seeing a jet powered broom sweeping by it self. You really need to fine-tune the “find” on your “seeker.” Had it been working correctly your broom would have warned you. I think slamming into that tree may have shaken it up a little bit.

Of course seeing that third eye in the middle of your forehead probably took him by surprise. I think it may have been to dark for him to see you rotating your eyes with one rotating in one direction and other one rotating in the opposite direction.
