Howdy Roger,

What Shan is doing is what I would characterize as coagulated parisitism. If there is an ongoing sequence of events, it is easy to "jump in" and make further predictions about the sequence. However, I must give him freedom to continue to report what he sees in his scheme of methodolgy. I agree with Ara that he should tell us just what that methodology is.

Here's another example of "coagulated parasitism". If there are more than usual reports of missing animals in a given region, the number of predictions goes up in response. Missing animals. A plausible tool for earthquake prediction? Could very well be. But not conclusive.

Nobody predicted the 6.5 Mw in Sumatra that just happened. That area is not coagulated, and is simply "worn out". No eartones for that one. No P-103's or hemerhoids. Am I getting "Hunterish" in my posts?
