Good Morning, John. It would be difficult to differentiate a precursory ground movement from a distal P-wave, yes? Unless the animal can sense the amplitude of a closer event. What has not been brought up in this thread is the possibility of an animal sensing a piezo related electrical discharge, which would be local, not global. What is special about the San Pasqual wild animal park is that the animals are free to roam in a more natuaral environment. There are elephants that have several hundred hectares in which to roam. Not Africa, but much closer to the real habitat than say a zoo in Detroit. glen
