Yes, I was just wondering if in general a strike and a thrust have a different feeling. For example, more side to side versus up and down.

As for a quake feeling bigger than it should, we had a similar example here last month. Two quakes in the same area, maybe 50km from us, a 4.5 and a 3.7 but the 4.5 felt really strong out of proportion, although it was just a few seconds.

This happened sometimes in 1995 after the Hanshin quakes, when a 1M could feel like a 4 or 5 -- in that case I think we were right on top of the quake.
