Hi Mr Rabbit. As it stands now earthquake prediction is in two camps. Those who are trying and those who say it can’t be done. It’s like one army against the other. I recognize that at this time earthquakes can’t be predicted to the point they are useful, but making it harder to predict them isn’t going to solve the problem. If anything it will discourage them. For many years the word prediction and earthquakes wasn’t used in the same breath. Putting the two together was taboo. Recently that has changed. It’s not exactly the hot topic that everyone is talking about, but at least they are talking so that some can hear. It’s not being spoken in whispers in some back room. Before you can run you have to learn to walk. Before you can walk you have to learn to crawl. Were in the crawling stage. Putting obstacles in the way isn’t going to make it any easier.
