Re: Wednesday update |
That may be possible. Another interesting aspect is that the kp readings over the last day are in the red meaning that a large increase in the magnetic field is being recorded by ground based magnetometers. What is interesting about this is that my secondary indicators have been quiet during this period including this morning. The link to the site reporting this is below. Canie, thanks for the ant update. I presume the weather their has been relatively cool as well? I've been thinking that two events that have already occurred were the culprits for my secondary activity. When 2 of these secondaries are active at the same time, 95% of the time its an event up in the Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and/or Northern Nevada/Utah. An M4.0 did occur up in Montana at 9:22PM Pacific time on the 23rd. 00/05/24 04:22:06 46.35N 111.39W 3.5 4.0Md Additionally we had the Olancha, Calif. event, originally recorded as an M3.8 but that was upgraded to an M4.0, which takes care of the primary signal I had reported earlier. 4.0 2000/05/22 21:42:43 36.318N 118.065W 0.4 4 km ( 2 mi) NW of Olancha, CA It may be possible that on the morning of the 24th that I was picking up residual activity from these events. But then again it may be possible that I wasn't. We'll just have to wait and see what unfolds over the next few days and play it safe during that time. Dennis
