Hi Canie,

I read that one earlier. In new concepts would it not behove those in science to ask for donations to fund their projects? Its not that difficult to raise two million. They could simply employ the services of someone who is a fund raiser and let that person go out into the world and ask people to fund them. Or it can be as simple as having a special event like the one I'm attending today at the USGS and charge a small admissions fee and sell their t-shirts, coffee cups and whatever they have and with an estimated 20,000 in attendance over a weekend, it would surely get the ball rolling. The USGS has lots of offices and with a little effort, a friendly smile and the right plan, funding shouldn't be out of the question. At 20,000 X $5.00 admissions fee $100,000. In an investment vehicle their deposit with a yeild at 7.5% would net them $107,500 in just one year, or invested in technology stocks, could bring considerably more. They'd have to ask a financial counselor about that. I haven't gotten my Series 6 license yet.

There's lots of money in the world, you just have to know who to ask that has a similar interest and wants to fund it.

Happy Mothers Day...Pat
