There is some tension here

I was able to get at your meaning, Don, but it was not immediate. After all, to use your example, we do not say that "the sun has already risen" to mean that the sun will surely rise tomorrow. By trying to over-emphasize, you obscured. Me being a fellow garlic&onion man, I could follow it, but I think maybe you lost everyone else.

Likewise, Petra called the responses "pitiful" and I did assume she meant responses on some news page. But she was not specific about it. Maybe she should have cited an example and used a more focused adjective.

Perhaps in the past I added to some misunderstanding, so this is an effort to promote understanding.
