Sorry to disagree Petra, but I think that they are speaking from ignorance not denial. My parents are elderly so they can be excused for their opinion. But my cousin and wife are a doctor and nurse. A doctor and nurse by the nature of their professions are part of the disaster recovery team. I know that hospitals have emergency drills and earthquake and disaster exercises. If the message of the consequences of a major earthquake has not gotten through to a medical care professional, then the exercises and disaster education has not been effective and that is very scary indeed.
