Not to disagree with you Petra, but Glen is correct in his views that the entire state is in denial. You allocate the sense of calm as people just being busy and not getting around to picking up supplies. This could be true for some...but for the rest its a different story.. Back in June when Socal went thruogh the rash of quakes that it did-people could have cared less. While people on this site and at Cal Tech did find the quakes interesting, especially because they occured near locked segments of San Andreas, noone in LA even blinked. Northridge has become a huge distant memory for many...I commonly hear "oh yeah that big quake from 10 years ago" then shrug. People frankly don't care and aren't interested.
