Thanks for the comprehensive list. It is always good to review that list. I have emergency supplies for a week minimum plus camping gear, coleman heater and stove etc. plus fire survival stuff - non-flamable longsleaved clothes (cotton or wool) heavy boots, gloves, gogles, face masks - plus backpacks, compasses, shovels etc. in case we have to hoof it off the mountain (it would probably take 2 days or more). I don't have a generator which has been on my wish list but my neighbor does. What my question really was was more in terms of probabilities and severity of damage* in the area and probablilty as compared to areas such as Palm Springs, Newport Beach and Pasadena.

*People who lived through the Big Bear Quake a few years back (I wasn't here for that) say "oh yeah, there was a lot of shaking but we are on bedrock here and all that will happen is that some more chimneys may come down. It's no big deal. We are safe up here." I know that the Wrightwood quake took down the mission church at San Juan Capistrano back in the 1800s.
