retire 30 years from now

Petra...what makes you think I can retire in 30 years? I'll only be 80. With what has been done to this country the last few years I plan on retiring when I am 90. Tom Dibble put out a lot of his best work between the ages of 70 and 90...so maybe there is hope for me yet. I'm in it for the free booze (paid for with private, not federal funds). That is why I go to the AGU meeting, not the GSA meeting. Are you sure the incoherent badly dressed rude guy was not me?
Hey...I'm attending a 3D seismic reflection workshop at Lamont-Doherty....pretty amazing stuff...I guess I'll have to post on it when I get the time....you can see river channels several km below the surface from 100 million years ago...iceberg scours from millions of years ago...strange polygonal faults from shrinkage (I was taught in elementary school that mountains formed because the earth is shrinking like an apple...at least this is less damaging that what the vast right wing conspiracy is trying to teach our children...).
Chris (in rare form this morning...better get back to my SCEC poster..).
