Incompetence

Chris,

If we were looking for competent legislators we'd have to get rid of better than 50% of every one at every level. There is no greater number of people in this country who accomplish so little in a year. They've got favors on their favors to get anything passed. Whatever happened to making choices unencombered by favors? And who got those jobs as disaster officials? People who were closely connected to the current administration. They weren't given them because they had the skills, but by whom they knew. I'm sure they'll be moving on to something else soon.

And why are people who live in a disaster area without funds being charged $6.00 a gallon for gas? The highest in the nation, where people have so little? I think a phone call to a few oil companies with promises of vouchers every month would be in order. Or how about an order to reduce those charges. Talk about price gouging.

I bought fresh water today. I was behind on my own plan. I'm also going to start using my plastic milk cartons for water to wash my hands and dishes and keep the sparkling water for drinking. I bought more plastic bags today too and lots of paper products. I hope I never need them for an earthquake. I just wish my neighbors would get motivated.
