Chapter II
Posted by Pat In Petaluma on March 28, 2000 at 21:24:41:

Hello,

Last night I was sitting with a geologist friend of mine and trying to explain how people like me hear earthquakes before they arrive. I told him I had two left ear tones yesterday and was expecting something around a 3 between the Geysers and Eureka. I see I'm off again, but it was in the correct direction.

Anyway, he said, "who's ever going to believe that?" My reply was, "one day when I can figure out how to produce something via a mechanical device and figure out how to record it, then everyone will know, it does happen." I explained my methodology on how to go about this and he said, "that's very difficult." I said, "no, its not difficult, it just takes time and money."

But moreso, it takes determination and willpower to keep at it, day after day, killer quake after killer quake and saying, "people matter, the value of a human life, depends on the abilities of others to make a difference." Today, its education for preparedness, stricter safety codes and tomorrow prediction with an education on how to live with it. Because to live without it means certain death for some.

Today some few souls got a real shaker and I was remembering this geometry solution that works a lot of the time in figuring out where the next earthquake is going to arrive. Its called the Route Ball Effect. Its rather amazing, simple, but it works. I selected three places on my list of possibilities; Alaska, The Bay Area or Peru. I haven't the foggiest idea if this hypotheses could work this time, but time will tell.

Wishing you a quake free Wednesday...Pat in Petaluma
