I attended college at USM in Hattiesburg, MS. We used to make day trips down to the French Quarter and New Orleans. It was a $28.00 round trip ticket on Amtrak or a two hour drive south on the 59, and we would park in the parking garage at the Riverwalk Hilton.

I would like to take my husband through the French Quarter one of these days and show him my favorite hangouts, shops, and oyster bars but it does not look good for sightseeing for a while there.
