Hi Brad, I finally got a look at your report and I don't see that area being the place for a moderately large earthquake, but rather along the SAF anywhere from Calexico down to La Paz. They've had 7.0 earthquakes along that stretch before and I'm sure they will again. The sand boils in the hillsides in Ensenada tell you a lot about the serious shaking events they've had there and they weren't local. They are about 100 feet across and no one could miss that distinctive mark by land, air or sea. It is something that really catches your eye and makes you think twice about where you are. But the northern area you are referencing definitely can produce more 5.0 quakes and those would be felt events most likely up to LA and over to Nevada one day and considering the increase in seismicity between San Felipe and Ensenada to Lazaro Cardenas it may not be to far away.
