Colima Eruption

Hi All. The Colima eruption may just be an example of the recent study.

The Colima volcano in western Mexico erupted today (July 27) with ash erupting up to 10,000 meters according to Associated Press. There is a danger from lahar flows from this eruption in the areas of La Lumbre, La Arena, San Antonio and Monte Grande. Colima Volcano is located at about 148 degrees from the strong earthquake of M 7.3-7.5 in the Nicobar Islands which occurred two days ago. This is a distance at which seismic energy is concentrated by reflection and refraction of waves at the inner core-outer core boundary and enhanced seismic activity at this distance may occur following strong earthquakes. A number of studies in recent years have indicated that some explosive volcanism may be triggered following strong earthquakes. One such study can be found at

Just some food for thought. Take Care...Don in creepy town
