One Good Ear Tone

I apologize for not getting this to you any earlier. Yesterday, 03/11/00, I worked seventeen hours straight and was tired by the time I got home. While I was waiting for my coworkers to arrive, outside in Universal City, I got a good long moderately high pitched tone in my right ear. It seemed to last nearly five seconds. This was at 7:33 am PST. I just checked a map and my ear was toward a north northeast direction. I thought it possibly meant more activity in the Ridgecrest to Mammoth Lakes area. According to the Current activity Map, there was quite a bit of activity, but nothing in this direction. I have no idea on time limits or distance if this should be yet to occur. Nevertheless, I thought I would mention it.

I also had a few questions about how the sound may travel. For instance, if it was the Point Sal 3.6, how does water affect the transmission of the sound? Also, at the time I heard the sound I was sitting in an area on ground floor, under the building, but open to the west northwest through the north northeast. Is it possible that the sound only appeared to come from that direction, because the rest of the building might be blocking the sound's travel?

Just trying to sort this stuff out,

Steven T.
