Hi Hills. Thank you for the report on my favorite place. I live in Hollister and when I want to get away from it all I take a drive down highway 25. I hope you paid attention to the cracks that went across the road at an angle. That was the San Andreas Fault.

If I really want to get away from it I take highway 198 to Peachtree Road. I hang a right on it and take the back way into Parkfield. The road follows the San Andreas Fault just about all the way to Parkfield. The road is about 20 miles long and is paved in some area, but for the most part it is dirt. Don’t recommend using it during wet weather.

Another good road to use is Parkfield Grade. This is about a 30-minute drive east on highway 198 from highway 25. When you get to the top you can see the Cholame Valley and the beginning of the Carrizo Plain. This road is paved part of the way. This road will take you into Parkfield.

There are no gas stations in Parkfield and none on the way in. The closest gas station is in San Miguel or Cholame.

The Parkfield Inn is known for its hamburgers and pork spareribs. You won’t go away hungry.

Welcome to the board. Hope you enjoy your stay. Take Care…Don in creepy town
