Re: $250 billion quake + More |
Chris, Here's another article, but one that goes for the big stretch. Canie, I hope you'll read this one. Notice the statement that says unless you are going to die very soon you will suffer from a serious earthquake. In the past year there have been two TV documentaries in the Bay Area telling everyone we are going to have at least a 6.5 AT ANY TIME. A plethora of these kinds of news articles have been circulated in Southern, CA primarily, yet the public who really needs attention drawn to preparedness gets nothing. Believe me, no one where I work reads any of this stuff and they really are not that concerned, so something is seriously missing and its called Public Service Announcements. Well, the buck has been passed all around and absolutely no one wants to commit to doing them so I hope absolutely no one makes any unfortunate statements about what someone should have done after the fact or I'm gonna have real hard time and a field day with it. While 1/1/05 we saw a new safety law enacted which requires all unretrofitted buildings in CA to display a sign saying they are not retrofitted, no one has informed the public what the word retrofit means, so the sign has no value to the majority of people who would read it. How pathetic. I always get this kind of weird symptom before earthquakes where I feel like I want to scream and today I have a major case of it. I'm not really sure how one is supposed to treat it, but I think I'll take something alchoholic and hope I fall into a dreamless sleep and wake up and find out everyone is just fine. It's really annoying. Good my e-mail send feature is broken right now or I might be tempted to send a few around when I shouldn't. And who says I'm not watched over. Or that "they" aren't. LOL (all sympathetic e-mails are welcome.)
