the weather is backwards in NE

It's late May, I refuse to turn on my heat in late May...but it is cold here in eastern suburbia. After shivering in my home office, I went back to wearing long underwear and sweater. And, all the storms are running backwards...there was an intense-looking one well offshore NE of Cape Cod last night and its now running west near lake Ontario. And, the next one, which is supposed to cause some damage, is cranking up off of Cape Cod as it drifts backwards (retrograde) towards the west. So, I watch the radar and the rain comes ashore in Maine or now Massasetts and then comes west at us....but until yesterday all the rain missed our house, so it is really dry...so I guess this is a good thing. I guess these sorts of backwards patterns are not unheard of, so I guess I don't have to bring up CO2 in the atmosphere increasing, throwing everything out of wack. Evaluating that is like evaluating earthquake prediction...it takes a systematic approach...not just...gee, it seems a little strange...weather machine muct be broken...

Yes, "global warming" is also predicted to be associated with more variability....so unusual cold in the NE does not mean warming is not a problem, and the very hot weather in the SW does not by itself mean that the earth is warming. It just means that there is a lot of amplitude....troughs and ridges..and cut-off lows...in the jet stream
