Hello Candlestick, I find your predictions for California puzzling. Though we all know we could have a 7.0 earthquake anywhere in the state, just about, your area's don't all substantiate that hypothesis. Cloverdale and the Geysers are of little threat for a 7.0 quake. Its on a small fault and we could get up to a 6 at best, but not a 7. Most likely it could be in the 5's range. Punta Gorda and onshore have had many earthquakes in the past and could again, but so often they are off shore and little if any damage is attributed to them. One of the largest quakes on record for that area occurred off shore and there were no damages and no injuries. Its a tough one to call at best. For North of San Francisco to San Jose, well its going to go at some point, but in checking the local meters, there isn't anything to support this idea. I'm not familiar with Southern California area's enough to comment except if I were going to look for an area of an upcoming quake I'd look at Santa Monica or the Elysian Park Fault, the one that runs right under the City of Los Angeles. A 7.0 quake anywhere is of much concern to everyone, but without some supporting data, the predictions can't really be taken seriously. Even if one was only going by their physical symptoms, if a 7.0 was coming, there would be a long list of postings from people saying they have intense headaches, vertigo, head pressure and more. But I don't see that. Some in the bay area have reported head aches of late, but it could be attributed to our barometric changes with the current storms in progress. Or it could be there will be moderate activity, but I would not support a prediction without a little more definition. You did not indicate when you thought the California quake might be arriving. Are you talking about a week, month, months? I like to remember when people come here and read these posts, they often don't know the posters hit record and if they drop by and see that someone says a 7.0 is coming to California, they should know that its given with some formula, some reason other than just "feeling" one is on the way. It can be quite frightening to some people and with their interest in mind, if you can put a date, time, more definite place with your predictions, it would be a little easier to follow and can be better defined as a hit, if one rolls through. So while I will accept that California will one day again be greeted by another earthquake that will be unwanted, devastating and possibly life threatening, it doesn't even have to be a 7.0, it can happen in a 5 or 6, depending on where it happens and the time it occurs. So I remain puzzled by your predictions. The area's are not defined, the faults, or when an earthquake of this magnitude may arrive. Perhaps you might wish to clarify a bit. Thanks....Pat
