I think I saw a Weather Channel (of all things) .com video of Lucy Junes talking about it...she said this may be worse because 32 M6s is worse than 1 M7.
I know one of the authors of the study and heard it presented a couple of years ago...and liked it quite a bit.....Lucy did say, however, that having the faults segmented does not prevent a cascade of segments and a very large quake.....
