Very true. Maybe a prediction area in the shape of a (Krispy Kreme) donut would be better. Say in Petra's case, she has an ear tone of 10 seconds, which equates to 375 miles, so could make a donut shaped prediction area of say 355-395 miles from her location. If she knows a tone from a certain ear is a certain direction, then could further cut the donut in half.

But then again, maybe I'm not understanding why a particular place at the believed distance is picked for a particular tone. Is it because that spot has resulted in something from a similar tone in the past?
