Yes, I see your point. I'm rather curious as to what if anything you think about the off shore 5.2M San Diego quake that occurred late last year? And how far off shore in miles is the edge of the Borderland?

I'm not sure if there is an answer to this thought, but, if there is indeed a coastal shove in progress, would that put faults like the Santa Monica fault at a higher risk as it runs E/W, versus N/S?
