Hi Don,

Great post. I've met some horse's behinds in my lifetime. Actually quite a few. Some were women, but the majority were men. The largest of the group, once said that I was no more than a mere woman. Of course, he lived to regret that when I sued his a.s to kingdom come. If he's still alive now, I am positive he remembers me.

Actually, they say you should thank anyone who places obstacles in your path, especially if you learn how to overcome them. From that you grow, you learn and people learn from you. So overall, the H.S. (Horses A) is really a blessing, rather than a curse.

Ear tone research is done primarily by women. I'm not sure why it's that way, but it is. It could be because women pay attention to details. Every woman knows this because if her best friend has a problem with her wardrobe, she'll be the first to notice. There are a few men that notice too, so I should give them credit. Lowell Whiteside is one of them. Not only does he notice things in nature, he like I notice people. We can sit in a restaurant and know exactly what people are saying without hearing a word because by noticing the body language it tells you everything you never needed to hear. Jim Berkland is that way too. And I've noticed that neither one of them has a problem with women. Being a woman, I appreciate that.

You know I really love ear tone research. At least several times a week I hear something. Sometimes I've heard it before, but I also am treated to new sounds from time to time. For me, I am sure it will be a lifetime curiosity. While convincing the general public of this sound and its meaning is never treated as a freak event and is accepted, just as they accept animal behavior before earthquakes, quite the opposite occurs when I tell anyone in science about this exciting development.

Back in 1999 when I took the volcanic tour at Mammoth Lakes I saw young John Rogie proudly tell us about his first instrument in measuring Co2 emissions in the tree kill areas. He had a Teflon coated frying-pan which he inverted and attached a fan and a little meter. That was later developed into a $100,000 super deluxe model, of which there are quite a few now. No longer does he have to manually measure 90 spots twice a day. I've never thought of there being any money in ear tone research, but maybe there is. Umm.
