M6 today-Sumatra..on equator

after the quakes south of the M9 rupture, there is another, a M6, even farther south, on the equator off of Sumatra...see link. Perhaps the stress changes are diffusing outwards.....I think this is known to happen....but it has been a while since I looked at that....John?
