But I can comment with some authority (though I'm also fallible) on theories like the 103° triggering, and I'd be surprised, very surprised, if there were any evidence worth presenting for it. Even Aristotle and Shakespeare had wacky, completely fallacious ideas, but kook is too pejorative a term for me to be comfortable with applying to Lowell.
