Is KB's Area Going To Rock?

Hi All,

I know a lot of you think ear tone work is fun and games, but honestly, it does require time, more than most people realize. And such was the case last night. Yesterday I had a rather unusual ear tone experience and it led me on a trail which took some hours to attempt to understand and try to draw some conclusions as to what it might mean.

First, I'll tell you what I heard and then what I saw. Just before noon yesterday while I was at work in Petaluma I began to have a sense of pressure building in my right ear, much like when you are on an airplane. About 3 seconds into the pressure experience I began to hear an ear tone that was barely audible, yet I recognized the sound as being either the same or similar to Hector Mines. The ear pressure continued for a total of about ten seconds and at that point it flat out hurt. Then it ceased in an instant.

My next step was to try and find some kind of data on the Internet to see if there were any signs of increased strain, tilt or ULF activity. I saw that Frank Condon reported a spike on Monday, but that's not really much of an indicator. There is almost nothing via data for Southern, CA except Earthquake Trackers ULF sites and some of those were interesting. But not near Hector Mines. I also had a look at Parkfield's meters and saw creep was up on two sites and that was around 9PM. But EQ Trackers Santa Clarita site looked darn interesting as well as Cartago above Lake Isabella, Barstow and Mt. Ord. As the EQ Tracker sites frequently have problems due to water or some other event in the area I did send an e-mail to Tom Bleir to confirm the data was good. For those of you who haven't taken time to review his site, I'm attaching the link. It is interesting.

I think it is possible that Keilis-Borok's area is getting ready to rock. I wish I had more information that was solid to go on, but I don't. This event could occur now or sit and bake for a little longer, but maybe not much longer, I think within 3 months would probably be a good time scale.

As for Avenal, not I, nor anyone in my ear tone group had any ear tones for the area.
