It's more like a directory with multiple files for each day you use Explorer. Keep them for a week and you can easily use up hundreds of megabytes. You can do what Don suggested and increase the number of days you keep the records. If you do you will use more space.

HOWEVER, you can better manage the space used and maintain speed if you run defrag on a weekly basis.
