Stephen,

I was sent to a house in Bennett Valley near Santa Rosa by a scientist back in 1999 to do a damage report on a house over there from a 4.2 earthquake. The house was the only one in the neighborhood that had any damage and it was substantial enough to use earthquake insurance for the repairs. Everything in the house moved from s/w to n/e. And looking at a deep stream which ran in the backyard of the house I saw two boulders that were about 6/7' tall and nearly as wide. They moved out of the wall that housed them forward and to the n/e.

The lady was very comfortable with me being there and we talked a bit about earthquakes and then I asked her if her ears were ringing before the earthquake. She said they were ringing loudly all night and she felt as though she was sitting between two electrical outlets.

That wasn't a very big earthquake, but her house sat on top of the fault. There was no damage to any other houses in the neighborhood. I think her account is interesting because she does sit on top of a fault and she got to sense that electrical phenomenon up close and personal.

And as we are speaking about weird things, though this is not a human or animal experience it is an interesting one. A woman who is living in Parkfield was in the 1966 earthquake as well as a few more there and she said in her house they felt this warm wind rush through the house and she ran for the doorway next to the kitchen. While standing there as the earthquake began she saw her dishes fly out of the cupboards, hang in mid air for a moment and then drop to the floor. She's a very straight arrow and not one to embellish. Her name is Donalee Thomason and she wrote Cholama, the beautiful one. Its her name you see on the Parkfield instrument sites.

I wish I had some leads for you on ear tone subjects for the Indonesia area, but I've only heard of the one man who was mentioned in a thread below. You might try contacting him to see if he heard from anyone else since he went public.
