Of course, it rains like heck on the way to court this morning - two hours from Woodland Hills to the Wilshire District (of course only to have my client show up one and a half hours late). BUT THEN IT STOPPED!!! It's been this icky drizzle. EQ cloud?? I am still curious to know whether the climatic change has any correlation geologically. Eh - who knows? I'll heed the warning about the EQ window and cave hunting. I felt a couple of tremors this morning. (I don't know if anything was recorded.) But, like I mentioned, I too feel that something is coming. (Gee, aren't we almost 10 years out from Loma Prieta? From what I've seen, we tend to have some appreciable activity at such an interval.) EQ trivia - There is some interesting legend surrounding the Lost Padres Mine. It is said that the Fort Tejon Quake of (I think) 1857 resulted on a vertical upthrust in some areas as much as 40 feet. Part of this was said to be the revelation for all of the gold that was found. Anyone who is interested in checking out a very interesting and eerie diary account of the Lost Padres Mine should check out http://rvi.net/%7Ekb6dj/annuno.html . This is a collection of writings from a woman named Annie Rose Briggs who - with her husband - is alleged to have found the mine in about 1951. Tony
