While I agree that we are all wasting our time on this...jan 1 is 6 days from Dec 26, not 4. And, that means that you have to consider the 6 days on the other side of Dec 26, so it is a 12 day period, not 4. So, odds of being by chance are more than 3%, not 1%. You also have to consider that in the average year there may be more than 1 earthquake with 1000s of casualties...like Bam Iran occurred a year before....so that brings the odds in the 1 year period up to 6 or 7% by chance. Then you have to weigh in every earthquake that this person has ever predicted and see if there is any record.
