Re: Spectacular MSH Photo |
Petra..Nice. Now let's see it after dark....I think that it will be nicely orange. I hitchhiked up to MSH in August or so 1980. OK, no one would pick me up...I guess I do look a little like a mass murderer and all, so I took the train part way. I got to the village NE of MSH...the blackberries were crunchy with ash..maybe a couple inches on the ground, like gray snow. Then, next day, walked in towards the volcano...no decent map, on logging roads. I would never have even spotted the volcano except it erupted...I was maybe 15 km away..it looked like a distant thunderhead...except billowing up. It seemed very far away, except people were killed a few months before farther away. I heard that someone was driving 100 mph away from that eruption on a logging road, and passed someone else doing 70. The person/people doing 100 survived, those doing 70 died. Sounds like some kind of Republican motto: death to the slower and weaker. I'm kidding! Follow Ups: ● Re: Spectacular MSH Photo - Petra 07:42:33 - 11/14/2004 (23692) (0) |
