Re: VAN is in disrepute at UCLA |
Hi John, Is it possible for you to elaborate on that a bit? How was it discovered? Does one error require throwing the baby out with the bath water? I'm more of a visualist. I want to understand if this affected just one prediction or many? Were there earthquakes when the factory noise was going on and they got hits or what? LOL The VAN group has taken some pretty hard knocks from the scientific community since day one and I don't mean to put down the scientific community, but suppressing earthquake prediction 20 years ago was pretty par for the course. Two years ago it was an examination into charges of fraud with government money and as far as I know that was a dead end. Now this. I hope it doesn't mar the good work they have done over the years. A woman I work with said something to me today which rather fits with this case. She said that no matter what good you've done if you finish with something that was less important or significant in the end, that is what is remembered. I'm quite positive she's correct. So spill the beans, let's hear it. I truly want to know.
