Hi All,

I see the San Gregario fault created a bit of history today with the following earthquake. It's only had 5 quakes in the 3.0 and greater range since 1898 and two a a day apart...that's interesting. Still more interesting is the continuance of off-shore or close to shore earthquakes this year. This has got to be a record year for such events.

3.6 2004/11/01 14:02:33 37.071N 122.280W 8.8 15 km (10 mi) WSW of Boulder Creek, CA

Now I'll add a little story to this post. In the fall of 1999 when I was taking geology at Sonoma State I had a dream about this earthquake fault. It was rather vivid too. In the dream I was looking at the fault as if above the water and looking over toward the it. I saw a giant red 7 appear and a time-line gauge going down it and it stopped at the halfway point.

I am more than certain that this fault will indeed have a 7.0 quake, but as to the time elements for the halfway point, I'm not certain. I do know that the line moved down rapidly, so perhaps that's a clue.
