Hi Kiddo. Your eartones are sure making things interesting. There are a couple of faults in the New Idria area that could pop. One is the New Idria thrust fault. The other is the Griswold fault. If your quake occurs to the east of there it will be associated with the Great Valley thrust fault.

The quake that occurred early this morning in the area is interesting in that it could be associated with the Great Valley thrust fault. It could also be associated with the Ortigalita fault. It may be the quake you heard, but you have never heard anything before that occurred this soon after hearing it. However the Parkfield quake occurred sooner then we thought it would so that is something we are going to have keep in mind.

For what it’s worth I’m betting on the Great Valley thrust valley and it’s going to be a little larger then you have predicted. Now I’m going make myself another sandwich of raw onions and garlic. I don’t have any Corona beer, but I do have a couple of bottles of “Double Bastard” ale that is pretty smooth. Take Care…Cowboy in creepy town
