Re: wg-99 probability on San andreas north of San Francisco

Hi Chris- the most recent probability I have seen for the northern San Andreas(north of San Francisco) having a 6.7 or greater over 30 years was in the Working Group 99 report. They now think that the northern San Andreas might not always rupture in 1906 like events. They think it might have earthquakes that would rupture smaller segments than the 1906 rupture.
Towards the end of the attached link to the WG99 they give a 12% chance of a 6.7 or greater earthquake on the North Coast South(NCS) section(which I believe runs from San Francisco north to a little north of Point Arena). And, a 10% chance on the North Coast North(NCN) section(which I believe runs from a little north of Point Arena to the Mendocino Fracture Zone).
These are higher probablities than what they had back in the Working Group 88 and 90 reports when they had I think only about a 2% chance over 30 years but for a higher magnitude quake and for one rupture along the entire 1906 rupture length.
