Interesting Ear Tone Report |
Hi All, Subject A of our ear tone group reported the following ear tone today: At 6:37 p.m. PDT today (9/20/04) I heard a loud, approximately 5-second tone with BOTH ears so can't guess what direction it indicates. External sounds were only partially blocked. It was loud and piercing, and its pitch was high - more than 2 octaves above middle C. I'll comment on some interesting notes from experience about this subjects experience. It is extremely rare to hear an ear tone in both ears at the same time. The high pitch normally is associated with an area which is granite or of very heavy rock structure. The loudness of the sound depicts a quake which should be a 4.7 or greater event. Most ear tones for the backbone of the Sierra's are high pitched and loud even though by comparison to other areas the quakes are usually moderate, though they sound like it should produce a whopper. I spent about an hour searching out possible locations to expect this earthquake and Don also helped as well. This earthquake should be about 187 miles NE, E OR SE from near Livermore, CA. Dennis Gentry who used to post here had a method called concentric circles, which I remembered tonight when working on this problem. NE - Hawthorne, NV - 183 miles As you can see the location is beyond this recent swarm, thus this ear tone is unrelated. Our usual window is ten days so we will be looking for this moderate earthquake east of the Sierra's by midnight on 9/30/04 with a radius of within 37.5 miles. If you want to have some fun looking for other interesting possible locations just use our 37.5 mile per second calculation and look for places 187 miles from near Livermore,CA.
