ear tone: BIG

Well, after complaining about not hearing any tones lately, two days ago I got the mother of all ear tones.

L ear.
32 seconds
facing SW
LOUD
medium pitch

I couldn't believe what I was "hearing." Using Petra's formula, that's 1,200 miles away. Is this possible--a link between a tone and an earthquake at that distance? If so, what parameters indicate magnitude?
