ERUPTION DETAILS: POSSIBLE SMALL ERUPTION AT 17/2000 UTC.

DETAILS OF ASH CLOUD: SATELLITE IMAGERY THROUGH 17/2045..CURRENT SURFACE OBSERVATIONS AND REPORTS FROM THE GEOPHYSICAL INSTITUTE ALL INDICATE AN ERUPTION OF THE SAN CRISTOBAL VOLCANO. THE 17/2045 UTC SATELLITE IMAGE SHOWS A FAINT PLUME STRETCHING 72KM (39 NMI) TO THE SOUTHWEST AWAY FROM THE SUMMIT. THE PLUME IS 21KM (11NMI) WIDE AND EXTENDS TO THE POINT: 1218N 8732W. CURRENT REPORTS INDICATE THE PLUME IS AT SUMMIT HEIGHT OR FL060.

TRAJECTORY: ASH AT FL060 WILL MOVE TOWARD THE SOUTHWEST AT 20KTS.
