I took the NEIC list of significant quakes, narrowed it down to those having casualties from 1900 on, mag 7+.

That's 264 killer quakes. Plotting longitude vs sun-moon angle gives a nice scatter diagram but no particular clumping. Chi-square says the distribution is not significant (25% level)
