VENIAMINOF Alaska Peninsula, USA 56.17°N, 159.38°W; summit elev. 2,507 m

small steam-and-ash emissions during 16-23 July, on 22 July at 2129 a witnessed small ash burst rising a few hundred meters as during the previous 3 months, during periods of repose in the report week variable amounts of white steam from at least two separate craters





Equatorial Ash and Gas Eruptions

ANATAHAN Mariana Islands, central Pacific Ocean 16.35°N, 145.67°E; summit elev. 788 m

seismicity approaching the highest levels of the year on 23 July, Strombolian explosions frequently throwing mostly coarse material up to hundreds of meters at intervals of tens of seconds to minutes, on 26 July nearly continuous ash-and-gas emissions, by 27 July seismicity to very low levels



EGON Lesser Sunda Islands, Indonesia 8.67°S, 122.45°E; 1,703 m

on 25 July at 1440 a strong sulfur scent and explosions to 1.7-3.2 km, At 0700 on 26 July nearly continuous explosions producing plumes to ~1.95 km



FUEGO Guatemala 14.47°N, 90.88°W; summit elev. 3,763 m

strong explosions on 21 July during 1230-1550 producing ash plumes to a height of ~5.8 km, ash emissions and avalanches continuing through 27 July
