OK - what really got to me was the 7.0 sometime in the next month - OF COURSE there will be one - with the average of 18 per year odds are pretty high you will be right.

Punta Gorda is nowhere near Fontana - but since you live over in Florida maybe you feel it is... they are at least 600 miles apart or so...if not more. All is relative.

The Ridgecrest activity is not similar to the activity prior to Hector - as said be a few others and myself - Ridgecrest swarms are somewhat common on the geological timescale. It is an area of geothermal activity. It could be building to something a bit higher but nothing disasterous. They have historically had some large quakes in that area.
