SPECIAL NOTE:

Volcanic Emissions via TOMS Satellite

Four satellites since 1978 have monitored ash and SO2 emissions during volcanic eruptions. The archived data continue to be available at http://toms.umbc.edu/ .

Continued emission of the gas is associated with drought under SO2 clouds because of the long time the gas takes to form droplets.
