Hi Petra,
You new Santa Rosa digs sound like a house I was looking at to buy last year. It was pretty close to the junior college and the garage was slowly being torn apart by what appeared to the Rogers Creek, and right behind the garage was a sag pond. Guess it scared me enough that I ended up buying a place about ten miles or so to the west in Forestville. But really bothered me about Santa Rosa was the traffic congestion close to HWY 101.

As far as pending earthquakes. I'm thinking the next damaging earthquake in Northern California(outside of Eureka) might be on the Northern Calaveras or a fault to the east between the Calaveras and the Central Valley in the eastern SF Bay Area. It seems to me that there has been a significant increase in earthquakes over the past two years in the area. I haven't done much research
on what appears to be an increase to me though so I'm not ready to post a specific prediction yet.
But then again, going back to your new Santa Rosa house, the activity might be literally in your back yard as last year there were a few earthquakes in Santa Rosa.
