Don, I was also "there" in 89, and I saw the San Lorezo river rise 2 days before the quake. I lived on the river in Ben Lomand. Funny thing, also here in Alaska, I notice water table changes months after in 7.9 eq at denali fault. Seems it has affected many areas,even the little brother Castle Mountain fault, which I live on now. My lake is spring fed, and the water level has risen more than just snowmelt can account for. C
