Q: about time measurement (slightly OT) |
...but I thought that of all my lists, you guys would know. Midnight. Where does it fall? My former thinking on it was that it is the last second of a day, so someting due, 12 a.m., for instance, would be accepted until midnight My friend thinks it's the first second of 6/1. He bases this on the New Years's Eve ball hitting the bottom on the first day of Jan. 1. Also, the change from P.M to AM takes place at exactly 12. That last business worries me. On the other hand, if a writing contest says it's due at midnight, May 31, wouldn't you think that meant the end of the 31st and not the 1st of June? The rules also stated (all over the place) that the due date was the 31st. Is this most likely a technical error on their part?
