Four or five years ago I asked a person at USGS what kind of quake could I expect if I saw dilational strain building at both Parkfield and San Juan Bautista at the same time. His reply was he didn’t know for sure what the magnitude of the quake would be, but he would go out into an open field and sit down. Better yet would lie down. This way he wouldn’t have so far to fall when the ground is jerked out from under him. Take Care…Don in creepy town
