Hi Todd. There are other faults in the Bay Area then the ones you named that are quite capable of a major quake. The last major quake on the Rodgers Creek Fault was in the very early 1600s. There is the Monte Vista thrust fault. There is also the Mount Diablo thrust fault. Then there is the San Gregorio fault for which the history of it isn’t very well known. It runs from just south of Monterey to a point off the entrance to the San Francisco Bay.

The Bay Area could have a major quake at any given time. The problem is that no one really knows. The same thing applies to any earthquake prone areas. Take Care…Don in creepy town
